001 [Video | Action for Route 29]
[The feed opens up to Riza, but the view is unsteady. She’s frowning at the devise, unaware that she’s broadcasting. The technology she’s used to isn’t exactly up to par with the kind she has to deal with now. A Pidgey can be seen on her shoulder, though the view quickly changes to show the ground. Riza’s walking somewhere.]
I guess there’s no point in trying to call anyone. Not if everyone’s like the rest of the people in that town.
[She huffs in frustration and continues walking. The Pidgey chirps a bit, but for a while, everything’s pretty uneventful. At least, until Riza comes to a large clump of tall grass. She sudden;y stops as she meets up with a mean little Rattata. She tries to walk around it, but it keeps stepping in front of her. She reaches to where she would normally keep a pistol on her, but grabs nothing. That’s right, they’re gone…]
Do you want to get hurt?
[Riza tries to step over it, but the purple rat just jumps up and grabs on to her leg and sinks its teeth into her leg. Riza cries out and reaches down to grab its tail to throw it off of her. Meanwhile, her Pidgey flies off her shoulder and confronts the Rattata.]
Damnit! [Riza had read the pamphlets, but the whole thing seemed more than a little cruel to her. Still, her bird seemed ready to fight that thing of its own free will…
Riza brings the Pokégear back up, still unaware of the recording as she tries to find that thing where it listed names of attacks.]
Use Sand-attack!
[The Pidgey obeys, though it can’t be seen on the screen. It’s focused on Riza’s face, though everything can still be heard.]
Now tackle it. Good job!
[It isn’t long until Riza lets out an exasperated sigh and the Pidgey returns triumphant. As Riza takes a seat, she sets the Pokégear on the ground where it shows Riza’s bleeding leg. She digs in her bag to find an extra shirt which she rips to bandage herself up. The Pidgey is on the ground next to her looking a little concerned.]
Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.
[She strokes the Pidgy’s head and it nuzzles her back.]
You’ll be needing a name, won’t you? How about Kittyhawk?
[A happy chirp. The Pidgey’s just happy that she’s getting a name.]
Kittyhawk it is then.
[Riza’s able to get up and she picks up the Pokégear, now realizing that a little light is on. Kittyhawk returns to her perch on Riza’s shoulder.]
What’s this-
[The feed cuts as Riza hits a button.]

1/??
2/??
3/??
4/??
[..try stepping on the rat, because the biting is the most likely thing to happen. She just hopes it didn't bite too hard.
Sound of Poochyena growling. Said Poochyena climbs up to look at the screen. Huff from the girl as she puts the dog down.]
We're nowhere near enough to help, you know that right? [The dog gets a smile for the thought anyway.
Ouch, that leg didn't look... too bad, but not the nicest thing either. Worried Winry is worried about little things too, yup.]
5/??
Sorry. She'll worry a bit anyways, because you're going to need that leg for walking around.]
6/7
...Except then the video suddenly cuts. What?!
Oh, right. New. Must explain stuff. Okay, time to stop stalking her video and time to start talking to her with the device.]
7/8 - yup, I lied
Kinda like a phone, but with a tiny screen where you see the other person? And like a camera that can record videos.
[No, seriously, she's a mechanic and it's still weird to explain all the things of this world to people without this kind of technology... orz. But it was new to her too at first, and she doesn't explain it often, shhhhhhh.]
8/8 [Video]
Hello, Miss Riza. I think Kittyhawk is a very adorable name and a good name for a Pidgey.
...How long have you been here?
Re: 8/8 [Video]
Winry? I'm surprised to see you here.
I've been here for just a few hours. Where are you? I didn't see you in town.
[Kittyhawk peers at the Pokegear as well and chirps a hello.]

You should -- know that time is a very strange thing here. I'm in Violet City with Al right now, it's the second nearest city to your location. He's pretty new, but... I've been here for over a year. [THIS TIME. Last time was different than this time has been.]
no subject
[Interesting. It seems like Amestris may be a favorite spot to tug people into this world. She still looks rather surprised at Winry's explanation.]
Alphonse has replied to me as well. How is it that you've been here for so long?
[Video]
Then he found himself very, very surprised. Still, it was a much more pleasant one than last time he'd seen someone from the military, as this time it was someone on his side of events at least. And she was looking well too!
...Unlike Alphonse whose long hair was neatly pulled back with longer side bangs falling into his face, and was far, far too skinny. He was a bit better than when he'd arrived, of course, his bones no longer prominent, but he still looked like he should eat more than he was.]
First Lieutenant Hawkeye! Hello! Did you just arrive?
[Video]
Wait...]
A-Alphonse?! Is that you?
[Give her a moment to absorb the fact that you're not a suit of armor, Al.]
Yes, I did. What's going on here? When did you get your body back?
[Video]
It is! Not long, just a few weeks, and it was this place that gave it to me. I think, if I went home, I would go back the other way but while I'm here... Here I am!
[Video]
[Video]
I'm happy to have my body too.
[Video]
[Video]
[Video]
[OoC: Sorry I've been gone for so long. Are Al and Winry still in Violet?]
video;
[John looks mildly concerned. I mean it's not everyday you see somebody get ACTUALLY attacked by a wild Pokémon like that.]
Oh um, for the record though, not all of use are like the natives! There are a bunch of us here who came from other worlds, just like you. And we have the tendency to be slightly more helpful about things, hehehe.
video;
[Riza looks a little relieved at first, then skeptical.]
I'm relieved to hear that there are people who can actually be of some help. What do you mean by coming from other worlds? Do you know what's going on and how I got here?
video;
[John smiles before launching into a somewhat animated explanation. Kid talks with his hands, apparently.]
I'm afraid I don't know that though, no. None of us have been able to figure out how or why we got here. Or if somebody has, they haven't shared that information with me yet. But the long and the short of it is: there is some kind of force in this world that has the ability to pull people out of there own worlds and bring them here instead. While it isn't a permanent thing, we have no control over when we leave just like how we have no control over being brought here.
video;
[Riza still looks skeptical. It all sounds rather ridiculous, but then, it was ridiculous to wake up in a strange room and meet a strange woman who claims to be her mother.]
How have you determined that people here were brought from other worlds? I don't mean to dismiss anything you've said, but you have to admit that it sounds rather outrageous.
video;
To answer your question though, it's actually pretty easy to determine once you start talking to other people. Other people who haven't live here all their lives, I mean. But once you start talking to people, you realize that it just isn't possible for all of us to have come from the same world. For instance, there are people here who technically aren't human! But for whatever reason, this world changes them when they arrive. But beyond aliens and dragons or whatever those people might happen to be, there are also people who come from different iterations of the same planet.
For instance, I am from Earth! But after talking to some people who are also from Earth, I have come to determine that we cannot possibly come from the same planet. Because there are events that happened in world that did not happen in theirs or vice versa. Make sense?

video;
Though uh, I can't really say I know but about it. Just that you guys don't celebrate a lot of the same holidays as we do.
video;
I see. It would be unusual for many people not to know about Amestris considering the conflicts along our boarders with numerous other countries. Could you tell me what country you're from?
video; know much about it* wtf self......... how do you even
I am from America, originally. Washington state, to be specific.
video; /patpat
I've never heard of it. [A sigh. She still doesn't want to believe that any of this is real.]
Thanks for the info.
video; my fingers are super dumb
No problem though. I would be happy to help with any other questions you might have as well.
video; s'ok. My brain tends to rebel against me at times.
times like this makes me wish i still had lust here
They won't let you pass though. So you have to work with your pokémon to get rid of them.
LUST!!!! Tsunade is a wonderful person to play off of Riza as well. :D
I'll keep that in mind. Do you know why they're so aggressive?
YEEEES!! Riza is never popular in an rp and it hurts my heart ):
/patches up your heart
I'm Riza Hawkeye, Lieutenant. Who are you?

Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The town that the Wright brothers chose as the base for testing the first controlled powered airplane back in 1903. I almost named my starter Orville - after one of the Wrights.
...I'm gonna guess the reference wasn't intentional, though.
[Not everyone is a history nerd like you, Lee. And not everyone is from America, either.]
no subject
I've never heard of that place, nor of anything called "airplanes." Where are you from?
no subject
[Her uniform seems somewhat modern - modern enough that she would've heard of airplanes if she was from Earth.]
You?

I've never heard of Amestris. What's it like there?
no subject
Hm. Amestis is a militaristic country and has urban centers near the center of the country while the rural areas are closer to the boarders. There's really not much to say about it, other than the boarder conflicts that are occurring and the Civil War which ended some years ago in the east.
[There's actually a lot more going on with Amestris of course, but nothing she's willing to say to many people, especially over the network which she was warned that other people could listen in to...]
And what about the U.S.?
no subject
As in the country is governed by the military? [Sounds like old Europe.] Any attacks from neighboring countries, or is it pretty much mostly internal?
[He smiles disarmingly, with a self-depreciating laugh.] Sorry for the third degree - I'm a history teacher back home by trade, my curiosity gets the better of me sometimes. You don't have to answer if you don't want.
The U.S. is a democratic country, originally made up of a union between newly-independent colonies, which each still have their own set of laws, although the Federal government controls things like currency and interstate travel. It's more militaristic than most would care to admit - we had our own Civil War, but that was almost 150 years ago, now.

It's fine, I don't mind. Amestris is governed by the military, and most of our conflicts are with countries at our boarders over territory. Amestris started out as a very small country, but we've been able to expand.
[And now it's her turn to listen. It's been one of her dreams to see Amestris as a democracy, and lo and behold, this guy was telling her about one!]
Interesting. There are people back home, including myself, that would like to see reform throughout Amestris and to turn it into a democratic nation. I'm glad to hear of one that really exists, even if it's outside my own world.
no subject
The part about the people who want to see Amestris become a democracy is particularly interesting to him, and even with all of the political problems in the U.S. he can't stand to burst her bubble.]
Well, the U.S's founding fathers laid the foundations for a democracy that's survived for going on 250 years from a group of ragtag colonies who were sick of being dominated by England, so I'd say with the right people in charge that reform you want isn't impossible.
I'm Lee, by the way. Nice to meet you.
